IT'S A GIRL!!!

We just found out on Friday that the baby is a girl. I am so excited, but at first I was confused. I was so sure that the baby would be a boy! I guess my maternal instincts haven't quite kicked in yet. lol.

So we know it is a girl because our friend did the ultrasound for us. We were in there for 25 minutes trying to solve the mystery of the sex, because when we first got there she was balled up and asleep. Needless to say, that position was not conducive to our search. We shook her around a bit, and I laughed until she woke up. Once she moved we got a very clear picture, and I will add the pictures as soon as I get them scanned. We watched her move around, and even caught her striking a pose. It was fantastic.

The next morning we set out to a consignment sale to pick up some girl clothes, since up until then we had only picked out neutral clothes. It was fun and daunting shopping for a little girl. It seems to me that a little girl requires quite a few more things than a little boy. For example, she needs: dresses, tights, socks, hair bows, pants, shorts, skirts, tops, onesies, sweaters, hats, and even more. Later on in life she will need make up and bras and accessories, and all sorts of extras. Whew! Girls sure are a lot of work, but I am sure that it will be worth it. As I was worrying about all of the things we would need, we were blessed to receive many, many clothes from my sister-in-law. She just had a little girl about three years ago, and she has lent me enough clothes for an army of girls. Yea! She has also been very generous with other items, such as a changing table, and bath, and so much more.

One of the problems now, is trying to decide on a name. We have quite a list to start from, and many suggestions from friends and family. We are slowly narrowing it down, but it's harder than I thought it would be. It's a lot of pressure. lol.

It is crazy. As things begin to show up for this girl I have started to notice Heavenly Father's presence in our lives even more than before. As we try to do what we can, and should, he provides for us the things that we could not get on our own. It is a true testimony that Heavenly Father loves not only us, but our unborn daughter. What a blessing she is to our lives already.
